Son of Ira and Malissa Crawley Cook
Services for E. L. (Cooner) Cook, 62, were held at Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church at 3 P. M. Saturday. Officiating at the services were Elder Marion Wilson, Elder Lake Raybourn, and Rev. Verner Crawley. Special music was presented by Elder Claude Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Ike Walker, and Larry Lott, accompanied at the piano by Arvin Broom. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Cook died Thursday, March 30, at his home in Mt. Gilead. He had been ill since February.
He was born in Marion County Jan. 7, 1910, the son of Ira and Malissa Crawley Cook. He had engaged in farming and was a member of Mr. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church.
Pallbearers were Jerome (Tink) Bennett, Versie Ray Bennett, Kermis Bennett, Joe Bennett, Winston Bennett, and Vinson Bennett.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Letha Miller Cook; two sons, Marcell Cook of Mr. Gilead and Gary Cook of Popetown; one brother, Jack Cook of Florence; one sister, Mrs. Lela Hudson of Improve; and two grandchildren.
