Funeral services were held Thursday, December 9, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Colonial Funeral Home for Mrs. Olivia L. Wooten, 85, of Columbia, who died December 6, at Wesley Medical Center. Interment was in the Good Hope Cemetery. Rev. Denny Patterson officiated at the services. Visitation was held Wednesday, December 8, from 5:30 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. A native of Marion County she was a retired seamstress and a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by husband, Preston Wooten; parents, Stanley and Georgeann King Broom; brother, Theodore Broom; four sisters, Edna Crawley, Gertrude Fortenberry, Iona Clowers, Earlene Davis; and a grandson, Craig Bullock. Survivors include seven daughters, Frances Ramshur of Columbia, Bobbie Bullock of Seminary, Missy Leggett of Collins, Ann Green of Hattiesburg, Brenda Cox of Columbia, Patsy Butler of Atlanta, Georgia, and Tammy Wooten of Foxworth; three sons, Charles Wooten of Foxworth, Carl Wooten of Columbia, and Danny Wooten of Foxworth; two sisters, Jean Nicklos of Eight Mile, Alabama and Alberta Riley of Ellisville; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and numerous other nieces, nephews, friends and family. Colonial Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
