Mrs. Dier passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 at The Grove Nursing Home in Columbia, Mississippi. She was born December 18, 1928, in Tylertown, Mississippi, to the late Scott and Ludie Freeman Breland. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Horace Sam Dier; two infant sons, Bobby and Larry; granddaughter-in-law Amber Sumrall; and brothers J.D. Breland, Toxie Breland, and Paul Breland.
She was a member of Carson Springs Baptist Church and a member of the Walthall County School Board. She had worked at Haspel’s as a seamstress.
Survivors include daughters Debbie (Jimmy) Thomas and Beverly (Randy) Sumrall; sister Pearline Crain; grandchildren Shane (Lisa) Sumrall, Shea Sumrall, Justin Thomas, Courtney (Neil) Hunt, and Casey (Chad) Rowley; great-grandchildren Abby Sumrall, Connor Sumrall, Slade Sumrall, Tristin Thomas, Ana Kate Thomas, Dillon Rowley and Drew Rowley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Breland, Kevin Breland, Kent Breland, Danny Breland, Derek Breland and Greg Crain.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Fortenberry, Jeffie Stogner, Kelly Dier, and Gary Dier.
