Mrs. Entrekin Laid To Rest In Enon Rites
Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys McBride Entrekin, 43 were held at ten o'clock Friday morning, March 20,from the Enon Basptist Church with Elder James Stewart, pastor in charge assisted by other ministers, close friends of the family.
Interment was made in Enon cemetery with Colonial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were young members of Mrs. Entrekin's Sunday School Class of the Church.
Mrs. Entrekin passed away at 3:45 A.M. Thursday at the local hospital after a long illness.
She was born in Marion county at Enon and lived her entire life time in her home community. She was a member of Enon Baptist Church and was faithful in her activities in that church until her health failed. She was also active in home demonstration club work in her community.
Her lengthy illness occasioned much concern among the relatives and many friends in the community who mourn her untimely passing.
She was the daughter of J. M. McBride and the late Florence Tolar McBride the latter preceding her daughter in death by about two years
Surviving are her husband, Matthew Entrekin; three daughters, Mrs. Pete Hudson, Mrs. Jack Johnson and Linda Enterkin,all of Enon; one son, Gearld Entrekin, of Enon her father, J. M. McBride of Enon, one sister, Mrs. C. M. Thornhill of Enon, three brothers, Murphy McBride of Poplarville, Preston McBride of Enterprise, and Jesse McBride of Enon, a foster brother and sister Dallas Stevenson of Topeka and Mrs.Vance Bullock of Enon and three grandchildren.
