Hannah Quinn Shippey, 84, of Waveland, died Sunday, Aug 30, 1998, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Shippey was a native of Brooklyn and had been a resident of Waveland for the past 46 years. She was a member of St. Clare Catholic Church in Waveland and taught kindergarten at St. Clare School from its beginning in 1965 until her retirement in 1993. She was church secretary for many years. She was a member of the Parish Council and was an active member of Our Lady's Sodality. Mrs. Shippey was an officer and charter member of the Krewe of Nereids.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Quinn.
Survivors include two sons, James F. Shippey of Waveland and Francis Shippey of Diamondhead; a daughter, Barbara S. Landry of Diamondhead; a brother, Francis A. Quinn of Phoenix, Az; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Visitation was Tuesday evening at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis. Mass was celebrated Wednesday at ST. Clare Catholic Church. Burial followed in Gulf Coast Cemetery Mausoleum in Bay St. Louis.
