Evonne Humphries Stansel, 81, passed away at the Richardson Medical Center in Rayville, La., January 17, 2017. She was born in Sunflower, Ms., lived in Vicksburg since 1989; for the past two years she resided in Rayville, La. She was of the Catholic faith. She is preceded in death by her husband Jim B. Stansel, sons Paul and Robert McGee, Step daughter Brenda Dupree, Brother Eddie Dean Humphries and Sister Patsy Beard. She is survived by one son James William Stansel of Jacksonville, Fl., one daughter Wendy L. Walters of Rayville, La., one brother Charles W. Humphries of Vicksburg, Ms., one sister Jeanette McCurly of Winnsboro, La., and nine grandchildren. Service will be Thursday January 19, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Vicksburg, Ms. Visitation will 1:00 pm until the hour of service at the funeral home. Father P.J. Curley will be conducting the service under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.
