Mrs. Mary M. Chester passed away on January 1, 2017 at Merit Health River-Region Medical Center. She was 85.
Mrs. Chester was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg where she was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Dorsey Chester, Sr. and her parents E. R. Hampton and Callie Hampton.
She is survived by her sons Danny Ray Chester (Lucinda) and James D. "Jimmy" Chester, Jr. of Vicksburg; her sisters Gloria Pettway of Vicksburg and Faye Milo of Vallejo, CA; her grandchildren Daniel (Tabitha) and Michael (Megan); her great-grandchildren Abby, Raleigh Marie and Tobbie.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Glenwood Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Maine officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Glenwood Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Henry Graham, Bobby Raney, Mike Hampton, Quinn McClurg, Bo McCloud and Eric Pettway. Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Jones, Johnny Griffin and the members of Ridgeway Baptist Church
