Death claimed Benjamin Walter Cox,65 at his home at Improve Monday just before noon after a long illness. Mr.Cox a farmer of the Improve
community, was born and spent his entire lifetime there. He was the son
of George and Mary Williamsom Cox. Called a good neighbor and Christian man .Mr. Cox was a member of the Improve Baptist Church and was a beloved member of his community. Funeral services were held at Improve Baptist Church at two-thirty Tuesday with the Rev. W.L.Holcomb
Pastor ,and the Rev J.C.Watts, taking part in the rites. Interment was
in Improve cemetery, under direction of Colonial Funeral Home of Columbia .Pallbearers were Mack Powell, Herbert Morgan, Iley Sylvest,
Billy Cox, and Clifford and Erkin Crawley .Survivors include his widow
Mrs. Fronia Watts Cox; three sons ,Rossie and Aubrey Ray Cox of Improve, and Quinton Cox, stationed in Kentucky with the Army; two daughters ,Mrs. Carl Crawley of Gulfport and Mrs. Lewis Pierce of Columbia ,two sisters, Mrs. Tom Watts and Mrs. Mrs. O.A. Powell of this
county ,and several grandchildren .
