Helene Lauren Kergosien Vernon 80 of Greenwood, MS died Saturday, January 8, 2005 in Greenwood, MS. She was a native of Bay St. Louis, MS and had been a resident of Greenwood, MS for 32 years. She returned to Bay St. Louis, MS briefly before returning to Greenwood 2 years ago. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Gulf and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Churches. She was also a volunteer for the Hancock County Food Pantry. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents, Horace & Mat Kergosien, 2 brothers, Horace Kergosien, Jr., Phil Kergosien, and a sister, Karen Trutel, husband, Sam Vernon. She is survived by 4 daughters, Holly Gray of Hernando, MS, Alyse Clark of Greenwood, MS, Denise McElroy of Concord, NC, Cindy Knobloch of Bay St. Louis, MS, son, Mike Vernon of Collierville, TN, sister, Peggy Rowley of St. Petersburg, FL, brother, Greg Kergosien of Bay St. Louis, MS, 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis, MS. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be private in St. Mary Cemetery in Bay St. Louis, MS. Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis, MS is in charge of the arrangements
