Services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Mount Gilead Baptist Church for Vincent C. Broom, 86, of Columbia, who died March 22, 2008, in Hattiesburg.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Broom was a retired carpenter and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Calvin and Bertha Herrin Broom.
Survivors include his wife, Alla Mae Miller Broom of Columbia; a son, Darrell Broom of Sumrall; two sisters, Fleta Stewart of Hattiesburg and Celeste Hinds of Fairhope, Ala.; two brothers, Olen Broom of Columbia and Gorden Broom of Crystal Springs; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia is in charge of arrangements.

Preceeded in death by sister Helen Branton; brothers, Vernon Broom and J.C. Broom
