Joyce Ladean Sloan Erwin, 90, of Destrehan, LA passed on March 1, 2017.
She was of the Catholic Faith.
Joyce enjoyed traveling with her sister, bingo with friends and shopping for the perfect hard to find items. Her family was most important part of her life. She married the love of her life, Lewis Erwin in 1942 and followed him with their children throughout his military career to all parts of the U.S. and Japan. She also had a close relationship with her 12 grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Erwin, 2 daughters, Mary Joyce Roberts, Mattie Jane Usher, parents, William & Mattie Mae Sloan, brother, Otis Sloan, sisters, Willie Mae Sloan, Sadie King, Johnnie Lee Sloan & Cora Elizabeth Sloan.
She is survived by her sons and their spouses, Louis Erwin & Marguerite of Thibodaux, LA, David Erwin & Darlene of Destrehan, LA, James Erwin & Kim of Raceland, LA, daughter, Sadie Joiner of Lady Lake, FL, 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces & nephews.
The graveside service will be on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 12:00 noon in the Garden of Memory Cemetery in Bay St. Louis, MS.
Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis, MS is in charge of the arrangements.
