Funeral services will be held July 22, 2010 in the Hathorn Funeral Home Chapel for Myrtle Pittman Kerley, 97, of Columbia who died July, 18, 2010 at her residence. Interment will be in the First Graves Creek Baptist Cemetery. The Rev. Howard Pittman will officiate at the service assisted by "Bo" Reid. Visitation will be held July 21, 2010 from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home. A native of Marion County, she was a housewife and member of First Graves Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by husband, George Kerley; son, Walter E. Thornhill; granddaughter, Maria T. Primeaux. Survivors include daughter, Melovha T. Brewer of Columbia; two brothers, Howard Pittman of Columbia and Horace Pittman of Gulfport; eight grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers are Clay Landry, Paul Brewer, Charles Brewer, Robert Armstrong, Lon Ward, and Jeremy Oliver. Honorary pallbearer is Robert Boucher. Hathorn Funeral Home of Columbia is in charge of arrangements.
