September 20, 1934 - February 20, 2015
Mrs. Mary Jo Martin, age 80, died Friday, February 20, 2015 at Promise Hospital in Vicksburg.
Mrs. Martin was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Ernest Martin, Sr. She was a member of Goodrum Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter Glenda Burris (Ronnie) of Vicksburg; two sons Robert Ernest Martin, Jr. (Jodie) and James “Jimmy” Louis Martin both of Vicksburg; five sisters Loga Ann Oakes of Vicksburg, Carol Jean Tedder of Vicksburg, Geraldine Tedder of Vicksburg, Patricia Wamble of West Monroe, LA and Frances Elizabeth Smith of Vicksburg; three brothers James Harvey Smith of Kosciusko, Albert Smith of Natchez and Billy Wayne Smith of Roxie, MS; eight grandchildren James Layton Martin, Justin Ellis Keathley, Stacy Jean Pee, Deanna Lynn Weeks, Martin Allen Burris, Josh Dean Burris, William Austin Martin and Bethany Anne Martin; two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Glenwood Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Pennock officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Taylor Hollowell, Marcus Williams, Matthew Chambers, Brayden Williams, Lane Tedder, Austin Kraemer, Gage Quimby and Michael Hill.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Ashley, Steve Butler, Richard Greer, Raymond Joyner, Richard “Dickie” Martin and Gerald Cooper.
