Funeral service for Oscar Mayfield Jr. will be Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at Travelers Rest Baptist Church at 11 a.m.
Visitation will be Friday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home from 1 to 7 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m. Burial will follow at New Zion Church Cemetery.
Mr. Oscar Mayfield died Jan. 12, 2017, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson,. He was 65.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Mayfield Sr. and Josephine Ross Mayfield.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving, devoted wife of 43 years, Victoria Flowers Mayfield; a son, Edmond Dontate Mayfield (Nikki); a daughter, Adrianne Renee’ Mayfield; a precious grandson, Darius Mayfield.
He helped to rear two special nephews, Terrance Eubanks and Dereck Davis.
Oscar is also survived by his siblings, Dorothy Mayfield Heard (Franklin) of Jackson, Cariola Mayfield Jones (Harvey) of Vicksburg, Elmore Mayfield of Dallas, Texas, Johnnie Mayfield of Jackson, Joseph Mayfield (Vickie) of Byram and attorney Josie Mayfield-Hudson (Michael) of Ridgeland; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
