June 8,1875-Mar 16,1941

Husband of Rena Jarrell Lee
On March 16 God sent an Angel into the home to conduct the soul of J. A. Lee back to the beautiful City to sing around the great White Throne.
As we look through our blinding and bitter tears at the farm now cold and lifeless in the grip of the monster, death, we cannot see why one so dear to us, one in whose council we have found consolation so long and leaned upon so strong, should be taken away when millions are left with no one to care for them; no one leaning upon them. Yet we know that God is good and surely had a purpose in calling him from his suffering to peace and rest.
Only yesterday we had not this treasure waiting in Heaven for us. Today he stands among the Heavenly host with out-stretched hands beckoning us to come. He cannot come back to us so we must prepare to go to him where there is neither sickness nor sorrowing.
As we strive to think that the Lord is just, yet a feeling of bitterness fills our souls, some times as we try to pray. For the reaper has spared so many flowers and taken ours away. And we sometimes won our hearts did love him so; but we der if the Master can know how think of our dear one dead, our dear daddy, whom we loved so, waiting and watching for us in that City with Streets of gold; and how he's safe through all the years from sickness and want and war. We thank the Great Lord with falling tears for calling him home to rest. "God calls our loved ones home But we lose not wholly what he has given; They live on earth in thought and deed, as truely as in Heaven."
Mrs. Lee leaves to mourn his death his widow, Mrs. Rena Jarrell Lee; five sons, J. Clarence Lee, Walter Lee, Quinton Lee, of Carriere, Leslie P. Lee, Bogalusa, La., Rudie Lee, Starkville; two daughters, Mrs. Gorden de Bruey and Mrs. Paul B. Byrd, New Orleans, La; and thirteen grand-children and one great-grand child.
