Company K Wither's Artillery
Confederate Soldier
8 Mar 1838 - 10 Aug 1862
According to an article in the 23 July 2015 Vicksburg Post, written by Josh Edwards, Mr. Furlow actually died August 10th, 1862, rather than in April. Mr. Furlow was a member of the First Mississippi, which didn't form until the summer of 1862. Mr Furlow was among a group of soldiers tasked with defending Vicksburg in the summer of 1862 during bombardment by the Union naval fleet. He died in a place called Parker's Camp Hospital, although Mr Edwards is not certain if he met his demise from disease, a shell fragment, or some other nasty cause.
