Husband of Janet M DeLancey
Funeral services were held May 26, 2010 in the Hathorn Funeral Home Chapel for Gene A. DeLancey, 68, of Columbia, who died May 24, 2010 at Marion General Hospital. Interment was in the Good Hope Cemetery. Pastor Denny Patterson officiated at the service assisted by Ken Stover. A native of Marion County he was a shipping clerk and a member of Good Hope Baptist Church and served in the Army. He was preceded in death by his wife Janet DeLancey. Survivors include three sons, Chad DeLancey of Columbia, Jeff DeLancey of Columbia and Tim DeLancey of the Gulf Coast; two sisters, Vondell Wesley of Columbia and Beatrice Blair of Columbia; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers were Hunter Townsend, Mike Blair, Scott Powell, Ricky Townsend, Jimmy Townsend and Craig Wesley. Hathorn Funeral Home of Columbia was in charge of the arrangements.
