Funeral services were held Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. John S. Myers, age 87, of Prentiss, MS who passed away July 26, 2012 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Interment followed at Bethany Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements.

Rev. L. C. Anthony, Rev. Carroll Rippy and Rev. Tommy Broom officiated. Pall bearers were Jason Rogers, John Kevin Myers, James Bradley Myers, Brandon Sims, Maken McAlpin and Timmy Page. Honorary pall bearers were Charles Patterson, Rusty Riley, Randy Myers, Randy Page, Jeremy Myers and David Page.

John Seaborn Myers was born in Jefferson Davis County on August 23, 1924. He was the son of Benjamin Myers and Ora Bass Myers. He was the owner/operator of Myers Garage in Prentiss from 1953 until 2010. He was also a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

Mr. Myers is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sallie Ruth Myers; his sons, John Edward Myers Jimmy Myers both of Prentiss, MS; his daughters, Judy Riley of Corpus Christi, TX, Johanna McAlpin of Stringer, MS and Janice Lane of Prentiss, MS; thirteen grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, and nine brothers and sisters.
