LANCE CORPORAL US Marine Corps
January 18, 1943 - December 12, 2014
Daniel C. Beard died Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at River Region Medical Center. He was 71.
He was born in Natchez on Jan. 18, 1943, to Percy Calvin Beard and Maxine Juanita Phanka Beard. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Humphries Beard; two sons, David Beard of Jackson and Melvin Beard of Hunnington; three brothers, James Beard of Yazoo City, Johnny Beard of Columbus, and Barney Beard of Terry; two sisters, Beverly Holman of Tuscaloosa, Ala. and Sandra Murphy of Raymond; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014, at Glenwood Funeral with Tony Winkler officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, and Thursday from noon until the hour of the service.
Pallbearers will be Chris Beard Sr., Bubba Comans, Bubba Emfinger, Ken Whittington, Marion Cole, and Hank Hearn. Honorary pallbearers will be Melvin Beard and Wayne Beard.
