Lura Johnson Triplett, 85, of Memphis, passed away on Friday, November 29. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Earl Harrison Triplett, Sr.

Mrs. Triplett, the daughter of the late Otis and Lura Johnson, grew up in Glen Allan, Mississippi. She attended the University of Mississippi and Mississippi State University, where she majored in music and was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She also studied at the University of Memphis.

Mrs. Triplett served as President of the Woman's Exchange of Memphis and was a member of the Hermitage Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She also was a longtime member of the Josephine Circle, the Kennedy Book Club, and Christ Methodist Church, where she volunteered her time and shared her caring spirit at the Counseling Center. She devoted her life to her five children and provided loving care to family members in need, including her husband, Earl, during his long struggle with Parkinson's Disease.
