Funeral services Billie Floyd Powell 14,victim of a tractor accident, were held at three o"clock Sunday afternoon at the Good Hope Baptist Church with Rev Alfred Jones, former pastor and the Rev William English pastor, conducting the rites. Interment followed in the Good Hope Cemetery, under the direction of Walden"s Funeral Home. Pallbearers, all cousins of the deceased, were Lewis Henry Welch, Gearld Keen, Gene Keen, Leland douglas and Malcolm Cooper.
Young Powell was instantly killed Friday afternoon about three o'clock when a tractor he was driving overturned on Extension Section Avenue, pinning him underneath. He was employed by Jack Spiers on his chicken ranch. The youth was the son of Roy and Lela Missouri Cilburn Powell Of South Enon. He was born at Good Hope and lived there several years before moving to South Enon. He was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church, however he attended Greenville Church and School. He leaves to mourn his passing, his parents of South Enon eight sisters Mrs Donquie Smith, Mrs. Joe Webster of Columbia, Daisy, Mazie, Bobbie, Norma Jean, Betty Jean and Christine of South Enon, and Four brothers John D,Jimmy, Roert and Tommy of South Enon.
